River was a rescue who was saved as a puppy. River
was a handsome and beloved black labrador retriever who lived to be 13 years old.
In September 2024, after his death from lymphoma, a member of his family was inspired by his loss, grief, and compassion to rescue dogs in River’s memory.
A group of rescued dogs were saved from euthanasia due to overcrowding at the San Antonio city shelter.
This group was affectionately dubbed “River’s Crew”.
Our main goal is to have all 18 dogs adopted out by the end of 2025. So far, 14 dogs have been successfully adopted.
We want dogs to be given a chance at a proper life full of love and care!
